Our OEM Client based in Whitley, Coventry, is searching for a Project Design Engineer to join their team, Inside IR35. This is a contract position until 31st March 2026.\n\nUmbrella Pay Rate: £27.03 per hour.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nTeam Leadership and Management:\n\nParticipate in regular KPI reviews on the allocated projects and ensure on time delivery. Understand and promote Scrum values, helping team members embrace these values.\nComplete training programs assigned on time and as per business needs.\nParticipate in regular check-ins with reporting manager and address any concerns.\nShowcase success stories in each sprint to the wider team and celebrate success.\n\nTechnical Expertise and Mentoring:\n\nCollaborate with key stakeholders to gather testing requirements.\nAddress all the technical queries and escalations on time.\nDeliver system rig design as per the design standards within project timelines.\nCreate system Rig Design artefacts and deliver to meet First Time Right metrics target.\nPromote Scrum values and help team members embrace these values.\nDecompose test requirements to architect systems supporting development and validation activities.\n\nQuality Management and Process:\n\nCapture Lessons Learned from projects and share it with the team.\nMaintain our client's way documents updated and as per audit compliance.\nSupport activities for positive audit outcomes (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 45001, ISO 14001).\nFollow established processes to ensure quality delivery.\nImplement continuous improvement projects to enhance team performance and output quality.\n\nPeople Management and Delivery:\n\nDeliver high-quality system designs, including requirements capture, system architecture, network architecture, wiring designs, cooling circuit schematics, bill of materials, and simulation requirements.\nEmbrace agile methodology and follow scrum values for incremental product delivery.\nDeliver quality design specifications within agreed timelines and budgets.\nWork with lead operations engineers to hand over system designs for implementation and operation.\nIdentify and resolve risks early to prevent project obstacles.\nDemonstrate experience in Agile Methodology, including Scrum and Kanban.\n\nStakeholder Management and Collaboration:\n\nEnsure alignment with technical requirements and standards through cross-functional collaboration.\nUpdate the design pack as per the audit feedback.\nPractice servant leadership and be flexible to changes, embracing Agile principles.\nMaintain JIRA stories updated and escalate any impediments on time and proactively.\nMaintain clear and concise communication with all stakeholders.\n\nFlexibility:\n\nUndertake directed tasks in alignment with job requirements.\nEssential Skills:\n\nExperience delivering projects and developing complex systems in an Agile environment, ideally with Scrum implementation.\nExperience designing and/or validating electrified powertrains.\nExperience integrating complex systems.\nAbility to challenge existing ideas and processes to improve team performance.\nAbility to present complex technical ideas or project issues clearly to diverse audiences.\nDesirable Skills:\n\nDegree or equivalent experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Controls, or Systems Engineering.\nProficiency with Microsoft Visio and Excel.\nStrong communication skills with a customer-focused attitude.\nScrum Master qualifications.\nExperience with automotive networks, electrical distribution systems, voltage instrumentation, hardware-in-loop simulation, and cooling systems.\nSix Sigma or problem-solving training and certification.\nUnderstanding of relevant automotive standards and health and safety regulations.\nEssential Personal Skills:\n\nPassion for delivering complex projects and supporting team members, aligning with our client's Creator's code.\nResilient and enthusiastic, able to respond constructively to new ideas and challenge existing thinking positively
