Location: Bremerton

FSLA Status: Non- Exempt

Compensation: $31.00 to $36.00 per hour DOE

Shift: Monday through Thursday, four ten- hour days (occasional Fridays)

Why we need you and what you will be responsible for:

With a record high backlog of boats to build and because business is booming, we are seeking a Project Coordinator to join our team! You would be supporting all phases of project and program execution process; to include initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing. Working closely with project and program managers and cross functional project/program teams, you would ensure successful completion of projects/programs throughout their lifecycle.

What you would be doing/responsibilities:

  • Supports project and program managers with a variety of tasks including administrative, internal and external communication(s), and customer service.
  • Participates in developing project goals, milestones, deliverables, plans, and schedules.
  • Develops understanding and analyzes contracts to determine the impact on projects, team members and workflow.
  • Participates, coordinates, facilitates contract Post Award Meetings, Program Reviews, Pre-Delivery Inspections, and other required customer meetings.
  • Develops, plans, and schedules, and tracks Project timelines (master, intermediate and detailed) using Microsoft Project and/or Excel and schedule performance measurement reports to satisfy company and customer requirements for program status.
  • Utilizes and adapts company data collection and reporting systems and techniques to monitor program schedule and cost variances against the plan and current forecasts. Identifies the impact of schedule and cost variances, suggests appropriate work-around recovery plans, and develops time phased plans.
  • Manages planning and execution of limited, small projects; projects may include product design and development, as well as production.
  • Compiles Risk Register and updates for Programs
  • Defines and identifies potential resources for assigned project and program implementation.
  • Participates in project and program strategy creation for contingency planning and risk mitigation. Identifies and solves project issues effectively.
  • Ensures execution of assigned projects is completed in accordance with agreed schedule.
  • Develops and maintains project and program documentation.
  • Updates project schedules and closes out projects.
  • Responsible for photo documentation of boat builds and projects in process for internal and external use and use for reference by a variety of internal departments.
  • Assesses training needs and selects training tools for project and program team members.
  • Develops, facilitates, and contributes to process/quality improvement teams and/or initiatives. Identifies and recommends improvements to scheduling processes, practices or materials which lead to positive results in product quality.
  • Participates in new business proposals analyzes response requirements, develops response tools/templates, researches past performance, and develops/edits/assembles response content.
  • Coordinates and compiles information from a variety of departments/contributors for monthly and quarterly meetings. Populates and updates action trackers.
  • May communicate with and engage customers upon direction of Project and Program Managers
  • Complies with and enforces standard company policies and procedures.
  • Notarizes documents on request for the company as a whole.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Core Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Computer- MS Office, Project, Visio, Teams, and SharePoint
  • Understanding of the Federal/DOD acquisition and procurement process and project management processes as defined by the Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK).
  • Time Management – Ability to manage one's own time and the time of others. Understanding of cross functional relationships of timing and influence on schedules.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Effective meeting facilitation skills conducting both in-person and remote meetings.
  • Organization - well-organized and detail-oriented; strong follow-through
  • Experience coordinating projects (2 years or more)
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a Manufacturing environment, Marine experience strongly .
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Supports Project/Program Management and other departments with the preparation of, printing and binding of Technical Data Packages for internal and external use.
  • Notary license or the ability to obtain one.
  • US Citizenship required (per Government Contract stipulations)

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Manufacturing, Engineering or Engineering Technology or equivalent relevant experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Position requires use of computer, telephones and other office equipment, reading, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
  • Position also requires ability to work in and around boats from the beginning of production through on the sea trails. This includes mobility to work in and around incomplete aluminum hull structures.
  • Ability to lift packages, equipment, etc. up to 50 lbs.
