Project Controls & Procurement Specialist
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Controls and Procurement Specialist will have diverse responsibilities, including project planning and scheduling, cost tracking, procurement, and documentation. This role will contribute to a project team supporting projects from early-stage engineering through construction.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
•\tSupport project management in Requests for Proposal preparation and bid evaluations.
•\tAssist Material Coordinators with material procurement for projects.
•\tCreate and route project requisitions.
•\tCreate purchase orders (POs) and manage contractor communication via the FS2 Portal.
•\tAssist and audit Site View entries.
•\tReview and validate vendor invoices.
•\tEnsure project invoices are accurately prepared and submitted timely.
•\tDevelops and maintains regular cost reports.
•\tMonitor expected and actual delivery dates of materials.
•\tCollect, analyze, and report committed and actual costs for the project.
•\tUpdate monthly project forecast in the cost controls system.
•\tPerform cost variance analysis.
•\tMonitor project budgets and contract commitments.
•\tParticipate in creating and implementing cost controls systems and processes.
•\tGenerate ad-hoc reporting upon request.
•\tMake occasional field trips.
•\tMaintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
•\tMaintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
•\tSupport AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
•\tOther duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
•\tAssociates degree or higher in related field
•\tCompetent in SharePoint, Projects for the Web, Power BI, and Microsoft Office Suite applications
•\tMinimum of 10 years’ experience in project controls and material procurement
•\tOutstanding verbal and written communication skills
•\tHas the capacity to work effectively within a team-oriented environment
•\tAbility to work independently and collaboratively
