Project Controls Manager – Major UK Infrastructure Programme
We’re supporting a major UK infrastructure programme to identify a Project Controls Manager with experience in large-scale civils delivery. This is a route wide role, with empthaiss on Prelims, consents and earned value.
It would be of interest if you have operated in a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor environment and understand how cost, schedule, risk, and change all link together
The role sits within a central controls function, supporting project teams and contractors to track performance against the baseline. You’ll be part of the decision-making loop, not just reporting figures but helping shape the forward view.
There is an increasing focus on earned value, construction progress estimates, and looking at risk.
The Role
Maintain integrated baselines across scope, cost, schedule, risk, and quality
Drive earned value and project performance reporting
Coordinate inputs from supply chain and delivery teams
Analyse trends, challenge assumptions, and support governance
Lead schedule reviews and manage change control process
Line manage assistant-level controls staff and support cross-functional delivery
You’ll Need
Experience in a project controls role on infrastructure or engineering projects
Solid understanding of schedule and cost systems (e.g. Primavera P6, Prism)
Awareness of NEC3 or NEC4 contracts and how change is captured
Confidence to engage with commercial, delivery, and planning teams
Ability to spot risk trends and support project teams with practical insights
You’ll be working on one of the most complex civil engineering programmes in the UK supporting programme level visibility while staying close to delivery. This is a chance to contribute meaningful insight, not just track numbers. You will be reporting to a Senior Project Controls Manager, and could come from a cost engineering, planning or project control background.
This is a role, with clear progression, and isn’t a final “stop”, equally if you can demonstrate your ability via the STAR technique, that you can undertake these functions it could be a fantastic step up from part of a small team, into the largest civil engineering project
