Project Controls Manager

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Consolidated Financial Statements every month.
- Monthly written commentary on results, analytical reviews, etc.
- Preparation of Selected Operating Reports that are distributed to Executive Management and Field Vice Presidents and Managers.
- Review the financials of the Regions and communicate with the Managers and other stakeholders when variations are encountered.
- Analyze estimate vs projected budgets for significant issues and improvement opportunities.
- Monitor project expenses, ensuring accurate recording and allocation of cost.
- Coordinate year-end closeout with internal staff and independent auditors. Primary contact with external auditors.
- Review Work in Process (WIP) for over 200 contracts and over $50M balance.
- Responsible for closing the monthly P&L for each field region
- Review accruals to ensure adequate balances.
- Work closely with Corporate Accounting on special projects such as integration of new systems.
- Create and implement analytical tools and templates to evaluate the operating performance of each of the Regions
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and project specific requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of or older.
- A Leader who promotes Teamwork and is comfortable with delegating responsibilities.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with constantly changing demands. Demonstrated ability to manage and drive to completion of several ongoing projects and commitments.
- Technically savvy with a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's in accounting.
- Certifications: A CPA is Required.
- experience level - 4 to 6 years combined experience within the construction industry. With 1-2 years’ experience with construction accounting
- Accrual based accounting experience
- Earned revenue recognition knowledge
- Prior experience with ERP systems (Viewpoint Spectrum) highly desired.
