Project Controls Engineer \n\nLocation: RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.\n\nPackage: Salary from £ 39,500- £ 59,350 (depending on suitability, qualifications, and experience)\n\nWorking pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. \n\nReady to play your part? \n\nAt AWE, it's not just a job, it's far more than that. we are transforming how we deliver our Mission-Critical Programmes, and our Project, Programme & Portfolio (P3M) function is growing.\n\nWe are looking for a Project Controls Engineer who can bring professionalism, discipline, and energy to the delivery of enterprise-wide project controls, offering the chance to contribute to different areas of our work, all united by one purpose: ensuring AWE delivers on the UK's security mission.\n\nAs a Project Controls Engineer, you will support the implementation of P3M and enterprise-wide cost project controls, as a Project Controls Engineer you'll work with Task Managers to provide a credible, high-quality project controls service, ensuring that projects and programmes are delivered using accurate, timely, and reliable controls information.\n\nAs a Project Controls Engineer at AWE, your responsibilities may include:\n\n· Maintain accurate cost and planning data within AWE systems\n\n· Prepare monthly project reports aligned to business rhythm\n\n· Support creation of cost forecasts, estimates, schedules, bases of estimate/schedule\n\n· Assist with risk management and cost modelling\n\n· Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders\n\n· Review technical, engineering, and supply-chain artefacts\n\n· Deliver project control artefacts in line with AWE procedures and guidelines\n\n· Assure the quality of project controls outputs\n\n· Support continuous improvement of P3M capability\n\n· Uphold high personal standards in Safety, Security, Environment & Quality\n\nWe do need you to have the following: \n· Graduate-level qualification or equivalent experience\n\n· Strong interpersonal and communication skills\n\n· Good organisation, attention to detail, and commitment to quality\n\n· Competence with MS Office tools\n\n· Awareness of Project Controls concepts (planning, cost engineering, estimating, risk)\n\n· Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail\n\nWhilst not to be considered a tick list, we'd like you to have experience in some of the following: \n\n· Maintained accurate cost and planning data within AWE systems\n\n· Prepared monthly project reports aligned to business rhythm\n\n· Supported creation of cost forecasts, estimates, schedules, bases of estimate/schedule\n\n· Assisted with risk management and cost modelling\n\n· Built strong working relationships with internal stakeholders\n\n· Reviewed technical, engineering, and supply-chain artefacts\n\n· Delivered project control artefacts in line with AWE procedures and guidelines\n\n· Assured the quality of project controls outputs\n\n· Supported continuous improvement of P3M capability\n\n· Upheld high personal standards in Safety, Security, Environment & Quality\n\nWork hard, be rewarded: \n\nWe ask a lot and set the bar high because our work truly matters.
