As a Project Controller, you'll make a direct impact by proactively managing budgets, forecasting costs, and identifying financial risks before they affect timelines or scope. Your ability to collaborate across engineering, procurement, and construction teams will help streamline decision-making and keep projects moving efficiently. By bringing clarity to complex financial data and guiding teams with actionable insights, you'll be instrumental in delivering successful outcomes that shape the future of infrastructure.
Own the Budget
Develop and manage detailed project budgets, monitor expenditures, and drive financial alignment across all phases.
Analyze & Optimize Costs
Deliver sharp cost forecasts, identify trends, and implement cost-saving strategies that make a real difference.
Coordinate Schedules
Use PIMS tools to forecast timelines, align milestones, and adapt to project changes with agility and precision.
Manage Resources
Ensure optimal use of personnel, equipment, and materials. Resolve resource conflicts and keep execution smooth.
Mitigate Risks
Identify potential risks early, maintain a dynamic risk register, and communicate mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
Report with Impact
Create dashboards and reports that highlight key metrics. Conduct quarterly site visits to assess safety, progress, and inventory.
Ensure Compliance
Lead audits, enforce safety and environmental standards, and manage material/equipment inventory with precision.
Navigate Contracts
Monitor contract performance, support tendering, and collaborate with legal and procurement to resolve issues.
Collaborate Across Teams
Work closely with engineering, finance, supply chain, and project managers to ensure seamless execution and financial clarity.
Who you are?
Minimum 5 years of experience in project controls, ideally within Energy construction or EPC.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
PMP or CPA certification is a plus.
Proven track record managing projects in Puerto Rico, with deep knowledge of local tax laws, statutory compliance, and business practices.
Strong understanding of construction and EPC principles, and Energy sector regulations.
Proficiency in project management software and financial analysis tools.
High computer literacy, especially with planning and project control platforms.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and manage risk.
Solid understanding of field and construction operations.
Fluent in English and Spanish, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
High attention to detail and accuracy, especially in contract review and interpretation.
Collaborative mindset with the ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.
