Project Control Engineer\n6 Month Contract\nInside IR35\nManchester (twice per week in the office)\n\nSummary:\n A Project Control Engineer / Planner is required to support a Bus Depot Electrification Programme as part of a wider public transport network rollout. The role involves developing and delivering charging infrastructure for a growing electric bus fleet, including retrofitting existing depots and supporting the construction of new maintenance facilities.\n\nCore Responsibilities:\n\nProject Setup & Planning:\n Set up projects in financial and planning systems, ensuring accurate team structures and scheduling in line with project procedures.\n\nSchedule Management:\n Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, including critical path analysis, resource loading, and time-phased budget baselines.\n\nPerformance Monitoring & Reporting:\n Track project progress, manage cost and schedule performance, produce monthly reports, and provide variance analysis and revised cost forecasts.\n\nCost Control:\n Support cost evaluations, procurement processes, payment approvals, and ensure correct financial tracking within the project's Work Breakdown Structure.\n\nRisk & Change Management:\n Assist in risk identification, contingency management, and ensure proper implementation of change control processes.\n\nReporting & Process Improvement:\n Contribute to the preparation of project reports and the continuous improvement of project control procedures and practices.\n\nProcurement Support:\n Develop procurement schedules and support tender reviews.\n\nTeam Support:\n Assist in managing internal staff and consultants as required.\n\nSkills and Experience Required:\n\nExtensive experience in Project Controls, with a strong background in managing project performance, cost, and schedules.\n\nProven expertise in cost control and change management, ensuring accurate financial tracking and effective implementation of project changes.\n\nSignificant experience managing multiple projects or portfolios, with the ability to coordinate and prioritise competing demands.\n\nProficient in project planning using various software tools, including advanced use of Primavera (P6).\n\nStrong reporting skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise technical and non-technical reports for diverse stakeholders.\n\nSolid knowledge of project management principles and techniques, with the ability to apply best practices across different project stages.\n\nDemonstrated ability to influence, support, and coach colleagues in the adoption of new processes and procedures.\n\nExtensive project and programme management experience, with a comprehensive understanding of fundamental methodologies and frameworks.\n\n(Rullion is a recruitment agency)\n\nRullion celebrates and supports and is committed to ensuring equal opportunities for both employees and applicants
