Overview

Energy Jobline is supporting a major international energy infrastructure programme and is seeking an experienced Project Contract Administrator to manage contractual processes during project execution.

The role will focus on ensuring compliance with contract terms, supporting change management, and providing contractual oversight across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.

 

The Role

Reporting to the Project General Manager or Project Manager, the Project Contract Administrator will support the administration and monitoring of project contracts throughout the execution phase.

Working closely with project management, legal, procurement, and contractor teams, the role ensures contractual obligations are met while supporting effective communication, change control, and dispute avoidance.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and monitor project contracts including EPC, EPCIC, consultancy, and service agreements
  • Ensure contractors comply with contractual obligations, deliverables, and project milestones
  • Maintain contract registers, documentation records, and correspondence logs
  • Review and validate contractual notices, change requests, and variation documentation
  • Evaluate contractor change proposals in coordination with project controls and engineering teams
  • Support preparation and approval of change orders and maintain a comprehensive change register
  • Identify and assess potential contractor claims and support mitigation or resolution strategies
  • Assist in the preparation of documentation related to claims and contractual disputes
  • Draft and review contractual correspondence and formal notices to contractors
  • Provide regular reporting on contract status, variations, risks, and contractual performance
  • Support project teams with contractual guidance and ensure compliance with project procedures
  • Coordinate with procurement, planning, cost control, and legal teams to maintain contractual alignment

 

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of contract administration within large-scale energy or infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with contracting frameworks such as FIDIC and EPC/EPCIC contract structures
  • Understanding of project controls including cost management, planning, and risk management
  • Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage contractual documentation and correspondence effectively
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary project environments

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or Business Administration
  • 7–12 years’ experience in contract administration within oil & gas or major infrastructure projects
  • Experience working on large EPC or EPCIC project environments
  • Proficiency with MS Office and contract management systems
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills

 

Additional Information

The advertised day rate applies to independent consultants operating on a contract basis. Candidates who prefer to be engaged as employees of the client may be offered a different remuneration structure.
