Project / Construction Manager - Public Works

Job Description

LAE is a provider of Professional Municipal Public Works Engineering Management services to cities and other public agencies. The firm specializes in Project/Construction/Program Management, virtual / in-person Staff Augmentation and Inspection Services to Cities.

Who we are looking for:

A Public Works Project / Construction Engineer/Manager to manage projects (e.g. roadway resurfacing/rehabilitation/reconstruction, water, sewer, storm drain, parking lots, parks and traffic signal). The selected person will be managing a variety of Capital Improvements Program (CIP) projects for our City and Water District clients in various counties. The ideal candidates should have at least 5 years of professional and technical experience working on public works

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Work with our engineers, project managers, public works inspectors, outside civil/traffic design and geo-technical engineers
• Manage a variety of roadway, storm drain facility, water, sewer lines and utilities projects
• Prepare project schedules and track progress of various projects
• Work as an extension of our public sector clients' staff
• Attend and participate in various meetings
• Perform other Public Works project management functions as assigned

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in construction engineering/technology, Civil Engineering and/or sufficient Industry experience
• Five years of public / private sector construction, technical or engineering experience
• Ability to meet deadlines and complete public works construction projects on-time and within budget
• Problem solving and analytical skills
• The position requires occasional driving
