We are seeking a dedicated Project and Manufacturing Design Engineer to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

 

Job Summary:

A Project and Manufacturing Design Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and improving manufacturing processes and systems to ensure efficient production. They work closely with production teams, quality assurance, and product design teams to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and ensure that manufacturing processes are safe, cost-effective, and meet the company’s quality standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Improve Manufacturing Processes: Develop and implement manufacturing processes for sheet metal enclosures, generator packaging, and power skids to enhance efficiency and quality. Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, workflows, and layouts to maximize efficiency and minimize costs.
  • Lean Manufacturing: Implement lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, improve quality, and streamline operations.
  • Technical Support: Provide hands-on support to resolve manufacturing issues and improve production line efficiency.
  • CAD and CNC Programming: Utilize AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CNC programming to design components and support production.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality team to ensure adherence to ISO standards and company quality goals.
  • Cost and Production Analysis: Conduct cost-benefit analyses for new manufacturing technologies and process improvements.
  • Documentation: Prepare and update manufacturing documentation, SOPs, and work instructions.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all manufacturing processes comply with safety regulations and company policies, and continuously improve the safety and ergonomics of the manufacturing environment.
  • Automation & Technology: Identify opportunities for automation and the integration of advanced manufacturing technologies to enhance productivity.
  • Supplier & Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and machinery, as well as the quality of supplied components.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably in sheet metal or power equipment industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and CNC programming.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ISO standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Key Tools & Software:

  • CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD)

Work Environment:

  • Primarily factory or plant-based work, with exposure to production machinery and processes.
  • Frequent interaction with production staff, suppliers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Occasional travel to vendor or client sites may be required.
