Programme Manager - Automotive

Part of a major international group, this organisation has recently won several significant new automotive business and is seeking an additional Project Manager for a fixed 12 month duration to lead the NPI process.

Programme Manager – Automotive (12 month FTC)

Salary: £60-70000

Location: West Midlands (commutable from Wolverhampton, Bridgnorth, Stafford, Walsall, Telford, Shrewsbury areas)

As a Senior Programme Manager you will be responsible for introducing a significant new vehicle programme into production managing large high end customer projects from intake of process design, operation, implementation and integration of products delivering on-time.

Duties:

o Lead the management of designated projects, delivering agreed objectives including revenue, timing and deliverables, taking a project from conception to completion and escalate issues as they arise

o Support initial feasibility reviews, validation of quotations and development of project budgets and timing for plant based activities.

o Involved in the initial specification of project related equipment (e.g. Tooling, Assembly Equipment, Shop floor layouts etc.)

o Act as primary point of contact to the customer related to the project

o Achieving programme deliverables project cost and timing Progress reporting (internal & external)

o Follow the business process to realise programme delivery and identify areas of improvement Identify areas of change to work scope and control via change management

Experience:

You will already have significant experience in a Programme Manager or Project Manager capacity within the automotive industry, either OEM or Tier 1 supplier:

o Proven ability to conduct high level and complex negotiations with automotive OEMs

o Setting up full development plans from concept to production with associated gateways/ KPI trackers, maintenance of timing and cost plans

o Full understanding of PPAP, APQP and PSW process to launch a new product onto production

o Knowledge of complex manufacturing processes such as casting, metal stamping, injection moulding or similar process incorporating material and tooling costs

o Analytical with good judgement, commercial business sense and problem solving skills

o Relation builder with good communications skills with both internal and external stakeholders

o Structured worker with good time management and project management ability
