Role Description

\n

The Program Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Pittsburgh, PA, responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating inclusive programs both on-site and offsite that serve Friendship Circle members. This role provides direct leadership of assigned events, supports staff, builds personalized experiences for participants, and ensures compliance with safety, , and quality standards. The Manager works collaboratively with families and members, team members, and other departments to maintain a fun, mission-aligned, and developmentally appropriate program calendar. The Manager ensures the efficient execution of Friendship Circle programs and plays an integral part in facilitating friendships between members, empowering participants, and maintaining a welcoming and safe environment across programs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in program management, community-based services, or nonprofit environments, with the ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs effectively.
  • \n

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, including experience coordinating schedules, events, and multiple projects simultaneously.
  • \n

  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families, staff, volunteers, and community partners.
  • \n

  • Leadership abilities, including supervising teams, providing guidance and support, and fostering a collaborative, inclusive work environment.
  • \n

  • Comfort working with individuals of diverse abilities and backgrounds, with a commitment to , accessibility, and person-centered support.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, email) and the ability to maintain accurate documentation and reports.
  • \n

  • Ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
  • \n

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, nonprofit management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed for programs and events.
