Program Manager - Power Systems

Precise Power Systems is a small family-owned engineering and fabrication company that specializes in designing and building custom fluid delivery systems for marine naval propulsion and industrial power systems.

We are looking for a highly motivated Program Manager who has experience managing marine, or similar, industrial equipment type projects.


Daily Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the single point of contact for all contract-related matters

2. Direct and oversee all task order functions and labor utilization

3. Attend regular weekly meetings with project stakeholders and customers

4. Ensure all technical disciplines are properly staffed to support naval architecture, marine engineering, electrical systems, and other specialties

5. Defines and creates project plans considering time frame, funding limitations, staffing requirements, regulations, resource availability and customer contractual requirements.

6. Acts as liaison between customer, project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and internal company personnel.

7. Manages development of project execution strategy including planning, material selection, vendor, and subcontractor support and contractual requirements.

8. Ensures company performance against contractual commitments with customer and ensures customer satisfaction

9. Coordinates operational aspects and ensures communications to align on project delivery criteria.

10. Uses financial reporting and other performance measures to develop/modify project plans to mitigate risk.

11. Negotiates small to medium project or contract changes and incorporates changes into project control systems to maintain work statements, cost, and schedule baselines.

12. Ensures all projects adhere to project compliance standards set by the company.

13. Tracks project deliverables and prepares project reports for management or customers to ensure appropriate project cadence.

14. Evaluates project upon close-out and documents lessons learned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the maritime industry highly
  • Understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Proven project management track record driving projects to 100% completion, on schedule and to company/customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on the ability to communicate technical/complex information to non-technical people.
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, subcontractors, etc.
  • Ability to work with confidential and classified information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Project or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • BS degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, science & technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in project management field.
  • Working towards a Project Management Professional Certification a plus.
