Role Description The Program Manager is a part-time, on-site role based in Hayward, CA, responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and delivery of afterschool programs. On a day-to-day basis, this role manages program schedules, supports instructional staff, and ensures activities align with organizational goals and student needs. The Program Manager monitors program quality and safety, maintains communication with families, schools, and community partners, and addresses operational issues as they arise. This role also collects feedback and basic data to evaluate program effectiveness and recommends improvements. The Program Manager collaborates with leadership on resource needs, contributes to curriculum and activity planning, and helps onboard and guide new team members.

Qualifications

• Experience in program coordination or management within education, youth development, or a related field.

• Demonstrated ability to lead and support staff teams, including organizing schedules and delegating responsibilities.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, school personnel, and community partners.

\n

• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple programs, logistical details, and deadlines.

\n

• Ability to maintain a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for diverse student populations.

\n

• Comfort with basic data collection, documentation, and reporting to track attendance, outcomes, and program improvements.

\n

• Knowledge of afterschool or enrichment programming, child development, or classroom management is highly beneficial.

• Availability to work on-site during typical afterschool hours and occasional special events.

\n

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, or a related discipline , or equivalent relevant experience.
