Position Overview
The Program Manager will oversee all aspects of program execution, from business development, resource forecasting, and cost estimating to requirements and risk management. This role is integral to ensuring programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to the exacting standards required for mission-critical maritime systems. The selected candidate will also play a pivotal role in recruitment, career development, and performance management, while leading a small but rapidly expanding team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage resource forecasts, cost estimates, and program budgets.
• Lead proposal development for new and follow-on programs.
• Manage program requirements, risks, and schedules to ensure successful delivery.
• Oversee material procurement, inventory control, and configuration management.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, supply chain, and quality teams to resolve technical and logistical challenges, and with the contracts team to ensure contract compliance.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop team members, supporting career growth and performance excellence.
• Provide regular status reports to senior leadership and customers, ensuring transparency and alignment with program goals.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Program Management, or a related field .
• 5+ years of experience in program or project management within manufacturing, preferably supporting defense maritime industries.
• Strong knowledge of DoD or government contracting environments.
• Proficiency in program scheduling, cost analysis, and risk management tools.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing small to medium size teams.
• Excellent communication and customer engagement skills.
• PMP certification (or equivalent) is desired, but not required.
· IPC Certified Standards Expert or IPC Certified Specialist is desired, but not required.
