We are seeking a Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with a strong background in residential wood-frame construction to join our growing structural engineering team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the design of production homes, custom residences, and light commercial structures, while ensuring technical excellence, code compliance, and quality assurance.

The ideal candidate is a technically skilled, detail-oriented engineer who is proficient in AutoCAD, possesses a solid understanding of Texas building standards, and is interested in mentoring junior staff as part of long-term team development.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Structural design and analysis for residential and light commercial wood-frame structures

  • Preparation of construction drawings, structural calculations, and detailing using AutoCAD

  • Coordination with internal drafting teams, clients, municipalities, and contractors

  • Oversight of project deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards

  • Field observations and technical support during construction, as needed

  • Mentorship of EITs and junior engineering staff (future responsibility)

Qualifications:

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (Texas or ability to obtain via comity)

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in residential structural design (5+ years )

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree )

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with Revit, Bluebeam, or similar tools is a plus

  • Experience with design software such as EnerCalc, RISA, PTI Slab, STAAD or similar

  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards: IRC, IBC, ASCE 7, NDS, ACI 318

  • Effective communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset

  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple pro, meet deadlines, and maintain quality in a fast-paced environment

  • Interest in mentoring EIT's or junior engineers as the team grows
