Production Supervisor – Chemical Blending & Mixing
Location: Lenoir City, TN
Compensation: $75,000–$100,000 base salary + bonus potential
Schedule: Full-time, salaried role

About the Role
We’re hiring a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead a key blending and batching department within a chemical processing facility. This team handles raw material processing and the operation of PLC-controlled systems used to produce chemical-based products for industrial use. If you come from a background in wastewater treatment, oil & gas processing, or other liquid/powder compounding environments and are comfortable leading a team on the floor, this could be a great fit.

You’ll take over a department that processes powders, slurries, and other materials through various steps including batching, milling, spray drying, and compounding. The focus is on ensuring quality, safety, and team performance. You’ll have full ownership of team leadership, product specs, and equipment troubleshooting.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead all day-to-day operations of the compounding and blending department
• Supervise 11–12 employees across three shifts in a continuous production setup
• Monitor and adjust chemical batch processing to meet standards for pH, density, viscosity, and particle size
• Operate and troubleshoot PLC-controlled systems, pumps, dryers, mills, and mixers
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and address in-process equipment issues
• Develop and maintain SOPs while coaching team members on best practices
• Maintain material inventories and support raw material procurement processes
• Implement process improvements, quality audits, and efficiency initiatives
• Collaborate with plant leadership on safety, production goals, and team performance

What We’re Looking For

• BS degree , ideally in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering—or 5+ years of relevant processing leadership experience
• 3–5+ years in a production leadership role involving mixing, batching, compounding, or drying processes
• Experience working with chemical materials, wastewater treatment systems, oil and gas compounds, or other industrial mixing applications
• Hands-on knowledge of pumps, valves, dryers, tanks, and PLC/HMI-based control systems
• Comfortable using quality metrics and lab readings to make process adjustments
• Proficient with MS Office; experience with inventory software like AS400 is a plus
• Clear communicator with a strong leadership presence and ability to manage a diverse team
• A steady, floor-based leader who can roll up their sleeves and take control of a busy operation
