Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Production Supervisor to lead and coordinate our production team. This role involves team leadership, production oversight, quality assurance, safety and compliance, process improvement, and effective communication. You will be responsible for ensuring that production goals are met efficiently and safely, while also fostering a positive team environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate production staff to meet daily targets.
- Assign tasks and monitor performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Implement and manage production schedules.
- Ensure timely completion of production goals.
- Monitor workflow and adjust resources as needed.
- Ensure products meet company and regulatory quality standards.
- Collaborate with QA teams to resolve issues.
- Enforce safety rules and ensure use of protective gear.
- Conduct safety audits and training.
- Respond to incidents and implement emergency procedures.
- Analyze production metrics to identify inefficiencies.
- Implement Lean or Six Sigma practices.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain production records and reports.
- Communicate with management and cross-functional teams.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years of production supervision experience.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
- Experience with production, assembly, and automotive processes.
- Familiarity with hand tools and safety protocols.
- Strong process improvement and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with 5S methodologies.
- Training development experience.
- Knowledge of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Work Environment
The work schedule is from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential overtime starting at 6:00 am and occasional partial Saturdays if necessary. The facility is comprised of approximately 15-20 people, including a 5-6 person assembly team. The dress code includes jeans, steel-toed boots, and a plain t-shirt.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Urbandale, Iowa.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.00/hr.
