The Production Supervisor is a hands-on leader responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor to ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery. This role requires proven supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, with the ability to motivate teams, manage resources, and drive continuous improvement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and develop production personnel, ensuring effective team performance and alignment with production goals.
- Oversee all production processes, including metal cutting, machining, punching, assembly, and related activities.
- Manage production schedules and ensure timely completion of orders in line with quality standards.
- Monitor and maintain compliance with health, safety, and 5S standards.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Partner with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure production equipment is properly serviced and operational.
- Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and ERP system updates related to production activities.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, quality, and supply chain to resolve issues and meet customer commitments.
- Support training initiatives and ensure all production staff meet required skill and safety standards.
Travel Requirement
Minimal travel; role is primarily based on-site in the production facility.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership ability within a manufacturing environment is required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
- Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and interpersonal).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Infor Syteline ) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of production processes.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree ; high school diploma required.
- Minimum 3–5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing is required.
- Experience managing teams in a production setting, with proven success driving efficiency and performance.
