A stable, profitable, fast-paced manufacturer is hiring a first-shift Production Supervisor to oversee the manufacturing process on the day shift. The Production Supervisor will report to an Operations Manager and will be responsible for the following duties:

• Ensure shift safety, quality and delivery goals are met
• Train, coach, mentor and evaluate the hourly workforce
• Meet and track production requirements and metrics
• Assist with identifying process improvements
• Work with the maintenance team to eliminate downtime
• Lead shift meetings
• Follow the production schedule and schedule staff to work cells
• Review and confirm shift paperwork and production numbers
• Communicate with the 2nd shift production supervisor at shift change
• Confirm time sheets, vacation and time off within the timekeeping system
• Conduct reviews and disciplinary action as needed
• Other duties as directed by management

Candidates should enjoy working in a team environment, be able to hold others accountable, enjoy identifying process improvements and be able to coach and mentor their shift. Individuals will spend up to 80% of their day on the manufacturing floor and will need to have computer skills to complete shift reports and monitor KPIs. REQUIREMENTS for the Production Supervisor:
1. A minimum of a high school diploma and/or GED is required
2. At least three years in a similar production supervision role

3. Experience overseeing others in manufacturing environments, fast-paced production highly
4. Experience overseeing at least 10 people on the shift

5. ERP experience

6. The ability to identify cost savings and scrap reductions

7. Microsoft Office, including basic MS Excel skills

Skills , but NOT required:

1. Lean and/or Six Sigma methodologies

2. Mechanical aptitude
