Production Supervisor

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:Supervises, coordinates and monitors activities of workers directly engaged in the fabrication and assembly of window products and/or components in a manner that meets the company’s cost, quality, productivity and profit goalsPositions reporting to this position:

  • Production line workers & equipment operators directly engaged in production of above products and/or components

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes production schedule and other assigned work within allotted time by assigning personnel, monitoring progress and resolving problems in order to maintain flow and ensure quality
  • Monitors quality throughout the process for adherence to company standards and facilitates timely correction/rework of rejected products and/or components
  • Ensures product quality and maximum machine uptime by monitoring & directing production line personnel responsible for daily cleaning and maintenance of equipment
  • Works closely and in a cooperative manner with management and supervisors of other production lines & functional departments to help meet the company’s goals
  • Communicates job expectations to employees and trains workers in processes to be performed and in use and operation of tools and equipment
  • Maintains a safe, clean work environment by educating and directing personnel and ensuring compliance with established systems, policies, and procedures, especially as it relates to the company’s personal protective equipment and safety policies
  • Assists Management in resolving personnel problems by investigating issues, identifying solutions, and recommending actions
  • Notifies maintenance department and plant manager of any need for adjustment or repair of equipment and cooperates in correcting deficiencies and affecting repairs
  • Compiles, edits and provides data and reports to Management regarding employee time management (specifically absenteeism, tardiness and vacation requests) as required
  • Complies, edits and provides data and reports to management regarding progress against production plan as required
  • Performs other incidental and related duties as required.

Requirements:

Education and Training Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent but not required

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in window & door manufacturing or related field
  • Previous supervisory experience but not required

Special Skills Required:

  • Possesses the ability to understand and communicate clearly in English & Spanish
  • Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail
  • Possesses a high degree of organizational skill and has the ability to plan and coordinate people and processes
  • Ability to get along with employees and a wide range of people from other departments and functional areas within the business

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds
  • Must be able to stand for long periods

Working Conditions:

  • Factory conditions including loud noise, dust and dirt
  • Works with and around saws, welders and other equipment that can cut or burn
  • Work area is no air conditioned and is subject, in part, to outdoor climate
