General Description:


The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production operations and supervising production staff to ensure a safe work environment and efficient manufacturing processes. This role plays a key part in maintaining product quality, supporting employee development, and driving operational excellence.


Principal Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily production activities to ensure efficient, high-quality output.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Hire, onboard, train, and manage production employees.
  • Assign tasks and manage daily workflows for production personnel.
  • Provide timely, constructive performance feedback and recognition.
  • Support employee development through coaching and goal-setting.
  • Develop and maintain work schedules to meet operational demands.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all production processes and equipment.
  • Ensure products are properly identified, weighed, and stored according to procedures.
  • Troubleshoot production line issues and coordinate with maintenance as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
  • Verify all documentation and production records are completed accurately and approved appropriately.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Manufacturing Operations, or a related field is a plus.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a production facility, especially with automated equipment.
  • Experience with Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems and plant sanitation procedures.
  • Proven leadership and supervisory experience, including training and conflict resolution.
  • Forklift operation experience.
  • Working knowledge of equipment cleaning and sanitation practices.
  • Understanding of mixing, batching, and thermal processing principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer use.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective time management and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
