Production Supervisor – Metal Fabrication
Location: Libertyville, IL
Salary: $70,000 – $80,000 + 5–10% annual bonus (potential up to $85K)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM – 2:30/3:00 PM, rotating Saturday coverage (about once every 6–7 weeks)
Overview
We are seeking a hands-on, results-driven Production Supervisor to lead a team of approximately 15 operators in a fast-paced metal manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-impact position, enjoys being on the floor, and is passionate about driving safety, quality, and productivity. You’ll join a supportive, collaborative leadership team with significant reinvestment being made into the plant—offering the opportunity to make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities

Lead daily operations for a team of metal fabrication operators in a union environment (non-union leadership role).

Set daily expectations and conduct shift transition meetings with other supervisors.

Drive KPIs with a strong focus on safety first, followed by quality (scrap reduction, customer complaints, defects), and then productivity/OTD.

Conduct daily plant walkthroughs, coordinate with the superintendent, and communicate production schedules to cross-functional teams.

Participate in safety and quality meetings, oversee payroll, and ensure continuous improvement practices such as 5S, root cause analysis, kaizen activities, and Gemba walks.

Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable while leading with respect.
Qualifications
Required:

3–5+ years of production leadership experience (flexible on years if you’ve led a team of similar size).

Background in metal manufacturing (fabrication, assembly, machining, forming, press brake, cutting, or sawing).

Strong knowledge of continuous improvement tools and KPI tracking.

Experience in stamping or perforated metal manufacturing.

Prior exposure to working in a union environment.

Lean certifications or Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
Ideal Candidate Profile
You may have started on the shop floor and worked your way into leadership or have formal training and moved into management. You are respected for being on the floor, connecting with your team, and holding high standards while maintaining a respectful, collaborative atmosphere.
