The pay range for this exempt position is $84k - $108.5k Our strong benefits offerings includes eligibility to participate in 1 of 3 different BCBS of IL medical plans, Dental (SunLife) Vision (EyeMed), Life and Insurance, 401(k) with a generous 6% match on a 6% contribution, 11 Paid Holidays, 5 paid Sick Days (based on a full year of employment) and paid vacation.


JOB SUMMARY:

The Production Project Manager holds accountability and responsibility to ensure that production jobs are delivered fully conforming and on-time to our customers. Core activities include project scheduling, inventory management and project risk management. The Production Project Manager will collaborate across departments to ensure jobs are moving forward per schedule and that challenges are resolved timely. The Production Project Manager will play pivotal role in customer interactions related to assigned programs.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Creates project schedules for each production job assigned and is responsible for the communication between departments to facilitate that plan
  • Pulls cross-functional teams together to aggressively resolve job related issues when they arise
  • Maintains an accurate revenue and delivery forecast in company systems
  • Identifies project risk and works to resolve issues proactively before they impact critical path
  • Reviews job/contract requirements to identify all assembly and hardware requirements
  • Creates Manufacturing Orders (MO) for the corresponding quantities along with other items identified in the order to create demand in the MRP system
  • Ensures part coding and planning parameters and part assignments are optimized to support customer and business goals
  • Executes all hardware pulls to support MO’s and reviews job travelers provided by Configuration Management for assembly work; plans production capacity to coincide with hardware availability.
  • Support project schedule by facilitating internal and external project meetings; responsible for subsequent action item management
  • Provide internal and/or external project status updates at the required cadence
  • Maintain and update required information in ERP system (BOM’s, Routes, Production Start Dates, Shipment Dates, etc.)
  • Facilitate job review meetings with Operations, Contracts, Engineering, Quality, and Materials to assure that all aspects and details of jobs are accounted for in the scheduling and outside process coordination activity.

EDUCATION:

· Bachelor degree in engineering or business


EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Project Management, with a minimum of 2 years in production planning within a manufacturing environment (Aerospace/Defense )
  • Proficient in the application of project management principles (PMP certification )
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Project (MCP Certification a plus)
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, Project, etc.)
  • High level of proficiency with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 )
  • Professional presence for customer engagements and leading effective meetings
  • Must be eligible to possess explosive under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) for all employees of Chemring Energetic Devices.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Lifting carrying, pushing, pulling, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds occasionally, and / or a negligible amount of weight frequently. Involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Routine use of a computer and extended periods of sitting at a desk.
