Overview
The Production Planner / Supply Chain Specialist will work closely with the manufacturing team to create and analyze our plant-wide production schedule. In addition, the Production Planner / Supply Chain Specialist will cross train, learn and support our purchasing function, out-vendor coordination and be an agent to help improve inventory optimization. The right candidate will learn our supply chain process and systems from start to finish, learning out manufacturing process, business processes and ERP system. The Production Planner / Supply Chain Specialist is an important team member at Pioneer Products and a position slated for advancement, so the candidate needs to be intelligent, energetic and hard-working.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Manufacturing Manager in production planning and scheduling in our Epicor ERP system.
  • Use data and analytics to increase inventory turns and minimize obsolete inventory, helping us make the most of our investment in inventory
  • Make adjustment to plan based changes in customer demand or available resources.
  • Work with the production team to develop capacity contingency plans and help minimize the impact of capacity issues on other departments and our customers
  • Learn and understand our purchasing process and be a resource for the purchasing department.
  • Use historical supplier performance and other data to best project future supplier performance allowing for improved order timing and quantity.
  • Learn and understand our business processes and become a strong user of our Epicor ERP system.

Skills

  • Strong background in supply chain management and operations management.
  • Proficiency in Epicor and other ERP systems is essential for effective inventory management.
  • Experience with MRP systems for production planning and scheduling.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, including lean manufacturing practices.
  • Familiarity with quality control processes and standards within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills for conducting supply chain analytics and data interpretation.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with various teams across the organization.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Data Science or similar field OR four years of relevant experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

In this position the employee will be working in a combination office/plant environment and may be exposed to airborne particles & moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the environment can be loud so hearing protection is provided and mandatory in certain areas. Physical requirements are as follows: the employee is required to talk and hear, is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, walk, stop, read and write. The position may require occasional lifting, pushing & pulling of objects. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
