Job Summary:
As a Production Planner/Scheduler, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient flow of materials and production schedules throughout the manufacturing process. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining detailed production plans that align with customer delivery requirements, internal capacity constraints, and supply chain coordination. This is an ideal opportunity for a detail-oriented and proactive individual with a passion for planning and process optimization in a high-volume manufacturing setting. You will drive manufacturing efficiency through effective scheduling, material planning, and production coordination. This role balances customer demands with production capabilities while ensuring optimal inventory levels and on-time delivery performance. Partnering with many facets of operations, this role will be responsible for scheduling and tracking job processes from the design phase through on-time shipment dates. You will also be the face of the organization providing timely customer updates on the production schedule lead times, delivery timelines, and customer's order status.
Job Responsibilities:
• Develop, maintain, and adjust daily/weekly/monthly production schedules to meet customer deadlines and efficiency targets.
• Monitor work-in-progress and communicate updates across production, quality, procurement, and leadership teams
• Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain to align material availability with production needs
• Coordinate labor, equipment, and material resources to optimize production throughput
• Track and improve on-time delivery performance and report scheduling metrics to leadership
• Customer facing by responding to customer inquiries regarding order status and delivery timelines
• Manage schedule changes and re-prioritize jobs as needed with minimal disruption
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks or delays
• Support inventory control by monitoring scrap, yield, and material planning adjustments
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to planning, scheduling, and lean manufacturing
Job Qualifications:
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
• Over 4+ years of planning/scheduling experience in precision manufacturing environments (Aerospace precision machining, )
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access), required.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, is required. (Epicor )
• Strong analytical, time-management, and communication skills
• Comfortability interacting with customers by responding to their inquiries regarding order status, and delivery timelines/
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Attributes:
• APICS/CPIM or PMP certification
Must have:
*no Less than 4 years of experience planning/job scheduling in precision Manufacturing environments
*This person needs to be able to schedule production schedule from start to finish and manage the materials flow and planning.
*Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Access), required.
*Must Have prior ERP/MRP systems experience: (Epicor ).
*Must be comfortable interacting with customers (customer facing) responding to their inquiries, providing updates on the delivery timelines and order status, required.
Production Planner/Scheduler
Schedule: M-F 7:30am-4pm
Overtime: May be needed depending on demand/production levels on Saturdays but the office is only open (6am-12pm) on Sat.
Direct Hire
Salary: $65,000-$85,000/year
