Position Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner/Scheduler to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining efficient production schedules for customer orders, internal operations, and maintenance activities. The ideal candidate will collaborate cross-functionally to ensure on-time delivery while optimizing resource utilization and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and schedule production jobs in accordance with customer orders, internal projects, rework needs, and maintenance activities using the company ERP system.
Coordinate closely with department managers to ensure on-time delivery (OTD) while minimizing overtime and operational bottlenecks.
Partner with customer service to respond quickly to inquiries regarding order status, expedites, deferrals, and cancellations.
Assist in identifying workforce and equipment needs to meet production demands.
Actively support and participate in continuous improvement efforts to streamline processes, improve product flow, enhance quality, and increase organizational efficiency.
Participate in internal audits and support audit readiness initiatives.
Prepare and present status and performance reports as requested by leadership.
Required Qualifications:
3–5 years of experience in production scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in reading blueprints and technical documentation.
Strong knowledge of planning and scheduling principles and methodologies.
Intermediate to advanced experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal—with the ability to interact effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven with a positive attitude and desire to grow professionally.
Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
Strong leadership presence and customer-focused mindset.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to move throughout the production facility to monitor workflow and progress.
Regularly required to stand, sit, and walk within the plant environment.
Education & Certifications:
Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED.
Certifications: APICS, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma.
