Production Planner – Chester (Manufacturing)

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

We are working with a leading manufacturing business based in Chester who are looking to recruit an experienced Production Planner to join their operations team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong planning and coordination skills to play a key role in ensuring smooth production processes and efficient delivery performance.

The Role:

As Production Planner, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining detailed production schedules, balancing materials, capacity, and labour to meet customer demand. You will work closely with operations, procurement, and sales teams to manage workflow, minimise downtime, and optimise production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, issue, and maintain production plans to meet customer delivery requirements
• Monitor manufacturing progress and adjust plans as needed to address issues or changes in demand
• Coordinate with procurement to ensure material availability
• Work closely with operations to maximise machine utilisation and minimise bottlenecks
• Analyse data and performance metrics to improve planning accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain clear communication across departments to ensure on-time, in-full delivery

The Person:

• Proven experience in a production planning or scheduling role within a manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
• Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally
• Analytical mindset with attention to detail
