Our client is an international manufacturing organisation operating in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-to-medium volume environment. The business delivers high-reliability components and assemblies used in demanding applications, with a strong reputation for quality, delivery performance, and operational excellence.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Production Planner to play a key role in aligning demand, capacity, and materials within a highly configurable, customer-driven manufacturing setting.
The Opportunity
The Production Planner will be responsible for developing, executing, and monitoring production schedules that support both customer requirements and broader business objectives.
Acting as a central coordination point between Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering, you will translate a mix of forecasts, project-based demand, and customer orders into executable production plans. You will play a critical role in ensuring optimal capacity utilisation, material flow, and on-time delivery performance.
This role is suited to a detail-oriented planning professional with strong ERP experience and a solid understanding of complex manufacturing workflows and product structures.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules
- Create and maintain Master Production Schedules (MPS)
- Plan across high-mix product lines, including custom and configurable products
- Analyse capacity (labour, machines, shifts) and resolve constraints
- Release and manage work orders through ERP/MRP systems
- Monitor progress and adjust plans to mitigate delays or shortages
- Track KPIs including plan adherence and OTIF
- Support S&OP processes and cross-functional planning cycles
- Coordinate closely with Procurement, Engineering, Warehouse, and Quality
- Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and system usage
About You
- 3–5 years’ experience in production planning or manufacturing operations
- Background in high-mix, engineered, or industrial manufacturing environments
- Strong ERP/MRP experience (Epicor highly desirable)
- Solid understanding of BOMs, routings, and configurable product structures
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical capability
- Experience working cross-functionally within S&OP frameworks
