Production Planner

Production Planner Copello are working with a defence client who are seeking a Production Planner who will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and maintaining production schedules to ensure efficient manufacturing operations within the aerospace environment. This role ensures that materials, resources, and production capacity align with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company objectives. The Production Planner works closely with supply chain, engineering, quality, and operations teams to deliver products on time, within budget, and in compliance with aerospace industry standards. Responsibilities * Maintain production plans and schedules to meet customer demand, delivery commitments, and inventory targets * Support MPS function to coordinate with procurement, supply chain to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and tools * Monitor work orders, capacity, and production progress; adjust schedules as necessary to address delays, bottlenecks, or engineering changes * Analyse demand forecasts, customer orders, and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) data to create accurate production schedules * Identify and mitigate risks affecting production schedules, including shortages, equipment downtime, or supply chain disruptions * Generate and maintain accurate reports, KPIs, and dashboards related to production status, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery performance * Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve scheduling accuracy, reduce lead times, and minimize waste * Ensure compliance with aerospace quality standards (e.g., AS9100) in production planning activities Skills and qualifications * Minimum 3 years’ experience working as a planner, scheduler, production control, and buyer within a technology company (ideally mechanical/aerospace) * Strong knowledge of MRP/ERP system * Able to work to financial and time sensitive constraints * Have detailed knowledge of manufacturing planning, master production scheduling, product definition, inventory control, materials requirements planning, capacity requirements planning shop floor control, warehousing, transportation, and purchasing business functions. * APICS certification, CPIM/CSCP, Lean Six Sigma * Bachelor degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field Please note SC Clearance must be obtainable for this role.
