Production Operator / Floater – 3rd Shift (Whitewater, WI)
Pay: $17.00/hour (up to $22.00/hour when filling in for backup roles)
Shift: 3rd Shift | Sunday–Thursday | 10:55 PM – 7:00 AM
Overview
Our client, a leading plastic injection molding manufacturer in Whitewater, WI, is seeking a Production Operator (Floater) to join their 3rd shift team. This role starts as a hands-on operator position with the opportunity to train and grow into a Backup Material Handler or Backup Quality Auditor based on performance and attendance.

Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor plastic injection molding machines to ensure consistent production quality.
- Inspect parts to ensure they meet quality standards and production specifications.
- Perform basic troubleshooting, adjustments, and changeovers as needed.
- Accurately complete all production documentation, labels, and quality records.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following 5S and Safety standards.
- Communicate any issues related to production, materials, or quality to the shift lead or supervisor.
- Support the team by assisting with additional duties such as packaging, labeling, or material staging when needed.
Backup Role Development
- Backup Material Handler: Candidates with forklift experience may train to handle resin/material movement, maintain inventory, and supply machines.
- Backup Quality Auditor: Candidates with prior inspection or quality experience (using gauges, calipers, or other measurement tools) may train to perform part inspections and documentation verification.
- Once fully trained, employees receive higher pay while performing backup responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, or production experience required (plastic molding experience a plus).
- Forklift operation or quality inspection experience , depending on desired backup path.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety standards.
- Reliable attendance and willingness to learn multiple roles within production.
- Team-oriented attitude with a desire for long-term career growth.
