Job Description

Production Operator\nDunston, Gateshead\nWorking Hours: Monday – Thursday 07:00am – 15:00pm, Friday 07:00am – 14:30pm\nĀ£12.50 per hour\nPurpose of the Role\nTo support the powder coating process by preparing, loading, unloading, inspecting, and packaging components to meet production targets and quality standards. The role involves manual handling, attention to detail, and working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nKey Responsibilities\n * Prepare metal components for coating, including cleaning, and hanging parts on jigs or conveyor lines.\n * Assist loading and unloading parts from trollies or the powder coating line.\n * Carry out basic quality checks to ensure coated products meet the required finish and thickness standards.\n * Operate hand tools and lifting equipment safely (after training).\n * Support the maintenance of housekeeping and 5S standards in the work area.\n * Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times.\n * Assist with changes, booth cleaning, and basic maintenance when required.\n * Work closely with the powder coating team to ensure smooth workflow and timely production.\n * Report any equipment faults, defects, or quality issues to the supervisor immediately.\n * Package finished products ready for dispatch, ensuring correct labelling and protection during transport.\nSkills and Experience\nEssential:\n * Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.\n * Good attention to detail and quality awareness.\n * Ability to work as part of a team.\n * Manual handling involved.\n * Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn.\nDesirable:\n * Experience within a powder coating or paint line environment.\n * Knowledge of basic quality control processes.\n * Forklift or overhead crane experience (training can be provided).\nHealth & Safety Responsibilities\n * Ensure safe operation of equipment at all times.\n * Report hazards, near misses, and incidents immediately.\n * Maintain a clean and safe workspace.\n * Comply with all site safety policies and training requirements.\nAdditional Information\n * Training will be provided for all relevant machinery and safety procedures.\n * Opportunities for development into skilled operator roles for the right candidate.\nPlease apply with your CV via the apply button
