Title: Production Line Mechanic
Reports to: Production Maintenance Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY:
As a Production Line Mechanic, you are responsible for performing various tasks to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment, and the changeover process (installation of change parts, adjustment of equipment). Also, you can participate in small projects involving the installation of equipment.
Essential Functions
· Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production, and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
· Installation and maintenance of the production equipment.
· Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
· Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines and equipment.
· Experience with electrical circuits from 24v dc up to and including 480v 3 ph.
· Helps the line operator, line leader, or line supervisor to keep the line in a condition ready for production.
· Performs changeovers of production equipment, including adjustments after changeover.
· Participating in the start-up of new products on the production lines.
· Demonstrates strong mechanical skills, including, but not limited to, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, and repair of production machines.
· Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, Preventive Maintenance, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service repairs.
· Open to new ideas, problem solver, go getter, self-driven, motivated, and willing to learn, pay attention, and be responsible.
· Willing to work as a team player and work weekends as needed. Not mandated but willing to be open.
· Complies with safety regulations and maintains clean and orderly work areas.
Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work
· This is a full-time position.
· Actual salary will be based on experience.
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills.
- Experience in label/filling is strongly .
- Technical training is a plus.
- Basic PLC and HMI experience is a plus.
- PLC experience is a plus.
Physical job requirements
This is a physically demanding position. Employees must possess the physical qualities necessary to perform the job requirements. Maintenance Technicians are continuously required to stand, walk, carry, grasp/grip, and lift up to 75 pounds. The position frequently requires the ability to reach above your head, climb, step up and down, bend/twist, push, and pull.
