Production Manager based in Southampton
Are you an experienced production leader with a background in engineering and a passion for driving performance and innovation? My client is seeking a Production Manager based in Southampton to take ownership of site production, leading a skilled team in delivering high-quality, efficient output for complex electromechanical systems.
You’ll oversee all production activity to ensure projects are delivered on time, to specification, and in line with business goals. You’ll drive continuous improvement across manufacturing processes, foster collaboration with Engineering teams, and support new product introductions from prototype through to production.
Key Responsibilities for the Production Manager based in Southampton
- Lead and develop production, materials, and logistics teams to achieve targets.
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring quality, efficiency, and safety standards are met.
- Partner closely with Engineering to support product development and knowledge transfer.
- Drive process improvements using data-driven insights (VSM, SPC, etc.).
- Ensure effective material management and smooth production flow.
- Report on production performance, delivery schedules, and KPIs.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
About the Production Manager based in Southampton
You’ll be a proactive and strategic leader, comfortable balancing hands-on production oversight with long-term process and people development.
Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering or relevent Degree.
- 5+ years’ experience managing production in a high-tech or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical or electronic production processes.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
