Production Engineer
Owen Daniels are working with a well-established manufacturing business that specialises in delivering innovative electrical solutions for a range of industrial applications. Due to continued growth and investment, they are now looking to add an experienced Production Engineer with a strong electrical background to their technical team.
This is a hands-on role involving close interaction with both the production floor and customers, so strong communication skills and the ability to work from electrical schematics and CAD layouts is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Production Engineer, you will Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings to support production processes
Act as the technical interface between engineering, production, and the customer, ensuring specifications are clearly communicated and understood
Assist in the design, modification, and optimisation of manufacturing processes related to electrical products and assemblies
Work with CAD software to review and adjust electrical layouts, wiring configurations, and manufacturing drawings
Provide hands-on support during prototype builds, new product introductions, and continuous improvement initiatives
Support the development of manufacturing documentation including work instructions, test procedures, and BOMs
Identify and resolve production-related issues in a timely and efficient manner
Requirements for Production Engineer:
Previous experience in a Production Engineer role within a manufacturing environment
Strong electrical engineering background with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
Hands-on experience supporting production or assembly teams in an electrical or electro-mechanical setting
Proficient in the use of CAD software (such as AutoCAD Electrical or similar) for layouts and schematic interpretation
Confident working directly with customers to understand requirements and provide technical input
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to process improvement
Desirable for Production Engineer:
HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
