Job DescriptionRole: Product Support Engineer Type: Permanent Package: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum Hours: Monday – Thursday: 9am – 5pm, Friday: 9am – 4.30pmLocation: WolverhamptonI’m supporting an established engineering business that, due to continued growth across its product and solutions portfolio, is looking to appoint a hands-on Product Support Engineer with strong experience in systems deployment, commissioning, and fault finding.This is a customer-facing role suited to someone who has worked extensively on-site installing and supporting systems such as CCTV, fire alarms, access control, or similar integrated technologies. The position is heavily focused on physical hardware support, complemented by IT and networking knowledge.Product Support EngineerJob Description

  • Carry out on-site installation, commissioning, and deployment of systems across customer sites.
  • Diagnose and resolve system faults across hardware, cabling, and networked devices.
  • Provide a mix of on-site and remote technical support, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Work closely with internal engineering teams to escalate and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Support system configuration, setup, and integration including networking elements.
  • Maintain accurate records of service activities, installations, and fault resolutions.

Product Support EngineerExperience / Skills / Qualifications

  • Proven experience in deploying, commissioning, or supporting systems such as CCTV, fire alarms, access control, or similar.
  • Strong fault-finding ability across physical systems and hardware in live environments.
  • Good working knowledge of networking fundamentals (routers, switches, IP configuration, protocols).
  • Experience working in customer-facing, on-site support roles within engineering or technical environments.
  • Ability to balance hands-on engineering work with basic IT/system configuration.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
