A global leader in advanced electrical interconnect and energy infrastructure solutions is seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead the strategic development and commercial performance of a key product portfolio serving the North American energy market.

This is a high-profile opportunity for a commercially focused technical professional to take ownership of a globally recognised product line supporting oil & gas, industrial, utilities, infrastructure, and mission-critical applications.

The successful candidate will combine strong technical understanding with commercial leadership, portfolio strategy, pricing ownership, and cross-functional product execution.

 

The Opportunity

Reporting into global product leadership, the Product Manager will hold full responsibility for driving portfolio growth, profitability, and market expansion across North America.

This role operates at the centre of engineering, operations, sales, and customer engagement, requiring an individual capable of balancing technical product expertise with strategic commercial decision-making.

The position will play a key role in supporting new product introduction (NPI), pricing strategy, market analysis, and long-term portfolio roadmap development.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Product Line & Commercial Ownership

  • Own product line revenue performance, profitability, and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and execute product growth strategies aligned with global business objectives.
  • Manage forecasting, demand planning, and commercial performance metrics.
  • Support long-term portfolio expansion and market penetration strategies.

 

Pricing & Market Strategy

  • Develop and manage pricing strategy across North American markets.
  • Conduct market intelligence, competitor benchmarking, and pricing analysis.
  • Lead cost-recovery and margin optimisation initiatives linked to raw material and supply chain fluctuations.
  • Support ERP and commercial systems management, including platforms such as Epicor.

 

Portfolio Management & NPI

  • Lead full product lifecycle management from concept through end-of-life.
  • Drive New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives in collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Conduct portfolio rationalisation and gap analysis against competitor offerings.
  • Define go-to-market strategies and support global product roadmap planning.

 

Customer & Technical Engagement

  • Partner closely with OEMs, EPC contractors, distributors, and strategic end users.
  • Support key customer engagements, technical presentations, and solution positioning.
  • Work alongside sales teams to drive technical-commercial opportunities across energy and industrial sectors.
  • Influence specifications and support major project opportunities across North America.

 

Candidate Profile

 

Essential Experience

  • Proven Product Management experience within electrical connectors, interconnect solutions, power distribution, or industrial electrical products.
  • Strong understanding of oil & gas, energy, industrial, utilities, or infrastructure markets.
  • Demonstrated experience managing product portfolios with P&L accountability.
  • Strong background in pricing strategy, margin management, and NPI execution.
  • Experience working with distributors, EPCs, OEMs, and industrial customers.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or advanced commercial qualification preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor.
  • Experience within hazardous-area or harsh-environment applications highly advantageous.
  • Technical & Industry Knowledge

 

Experience or familiarity with industry standards and hazardous-area certifications is advantageous, including:

  • ATEX Directive
  • IECEx Certification
  • Hazardous-area classifications (Zone 0/1/2)
  • Explosion protection concepts including:
  • Ex d (Flameproof)
  • Ex e (Increased Safety)
  • Ex t (Dust Protection)
  • Intrinsic Safety principles
