The New Product Development Technician provides hands-on engineering support for new product development initiatives within Oceaneering’s Technology Group. This role supports product commercialization through prototype assembly, testing, documentation, and technical leadership across multiple business units.
This is a Morgan City, Louisiana onshore US based position, which may include working at designated geographic area as needed. Ability to travel domestically and international as assigned.
REQUIRED:
- Minimum 2 years of formal technical training or 4 years of progressive experience in electrical/electronic assembly.
- Minimum 3 years of experience interpreting, redlining, and modifying complex electrical schematics.
- Minimum 3 years of soldering and electrical assembly experience.
- Experience working with high-voltage systems (>680V).
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency with standard software tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience analyzing electrical control circuits for functionality, loads, and failure modes.
DESIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED; Technical degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, or Hydraulic Engineering.
- Experience with AutoCAD or equivalent CAD software.
- Familiarity with subsea controls and offshore operations.
- Working knowledge of ROV systems, IWOCS, Workover Systems, Robotics system, and Tooling packages.
- Understanding of 5S and Lean principles; 5S Champion or related certification .
- Valid forklift certification.
- Valid overhead crane certification.
- Ability to obtain TWIC, passport, and required offshore certifications. Ability to travel and work in challenging environments, including offshore and remote locations.

- Serve as a driving force and technical leader in the execution of new technology development projects.
