Job Description: Project Engineer, Electrical Systems is an engineering role focused on supporting the design, development, and improvement of new and existing products or product lines. This position plays a key role in evaluating specifications, conducting testing, and ensuring that products meet technical, functional, and quality requirements. The Project Engineer works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones and support the successful completion of engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define, layout, and design component for 12V DC electrical system.
- Create electrical harness models and drawings using CAD software.
- Ensure marine electrical systems meet US Coast Guard, ABYC, and ISO requirements.
- Test and validate prototype electrical components to ensure function and reliability.
- Provide support for the manufacturing team regarding proper harness installation, training, and troubleshooting.
- Provide support for the field technicians regarding training and troubleshooting.
- Approve models and drawings for release.
- Generate engineering change notices as required.
- Evaluate vendor-supplied items for their suitability regarding fit, finish, and performance.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements:
Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience Required:
- BS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
- Understanding of engineering principles, mathematics, and materials science.
- Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Desire to work in a “hands-on” environment.
Knowledge, Education, and/or Experience :
- 2D/3D CAD Modeling experience, preferably SolidWorks and Capital.
- Experience in the marine industry.
- Experience with the development of 12V Electrical Systems.
- Experience or willingness to learn with the development of Graphical User Interface and Controls Programing.
- Experience with C/C++, Linux, and Qt programming tools.
- Relevant certifications.
- Ability to trailer a boat.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment where ambient air temperature can exceed outside air temperature occasionally.
- Must be able to bend at the waist and knees and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds when necessary.
- This is a safety-sensitive position.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be a licensed driver with a good driving record (subject to MVR).
