Procurement Specialist
Location: San Jose, CA
Department: Operations
Pay: $63,000-$88,500/yr
Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Procurement Specialist to join a dynamic operations team in San Jose. This role plays a key part in managing purchasing activities, negotiating supplier terms, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of materials and services that support ongoing business operations.
Responsibilities:
- Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, change orders, and supplier quotes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify optimal procurement solutions balancing cost, function, and delivery timelines.
- Communicate with suppliers to resolve cost, performance, and delivery issues.
- Review and reconcile purchase orders, receipts, and invoices; correct any discrepancies.
- Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) to existing and potential suppliers.
- Maintain compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
- Manage recurring supply and service orders, including invoice reconciliation and approval.
- Maintain accurate purchase order data, vendor profiles, and related records within procurement systems.
- Analyze market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and enhance supplier performance.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively, working both independently and collaboratively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related field.
- Proficiency with Oracle, Excel, MS Office, MRP systems, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal communication skills.
