Our client is a clinical stage biotechnology company discovering and developing innovative cell therapies for autoimmune diseases and cancer. They are advancing a pipeline of engineered therapeutic solutions to facilitate durable activity in patients.

The role of Procurement Specialist (Contractor) is essential to the growth of this organization, providing vital support to procurement activities. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with R&D, G&A, and Technical Operations teams to ensure efficient procurement of lab and office supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage vendor relationships and ensure supplier details meet company standards and expectations
  • Issue purchase orders for enterprise-wide categories in a timely and efficient manner
  • Follow up with suppliers on order statuses and provide updates to stakeholders as needed
  • Update banking details after receiving approval from finance and ensure payment information accuracy
  • Create bi-weekly reports showcasing purchases and identifying goods received to AP team for invoice payment preparation
  • Analyze purchasing trends and recommend process improvements to streamline procurement activities
  • Work closely with Sr. Director FP&A to ensure all activities are completed on time and within budget
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders to meet their procurement needs efficiently
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities and ensure documentation is current and accessible
  • Oversee daily tasks including vendor record maintenance, purchase order processing, and collaboration with Accounts Payable team
  • Communicate with third-party suppliers and stakeholders when managing requisitions

Skills And Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in procurement or related field, preferably in biotech, laboratory, or manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational skills, time-management abilities, and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of management
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel reporting, and Procure to Pay software experience
  • Strong problem-solving skills with analytical mindset
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills
