Procurement Manager · Würzburg · Hybrid

My client is an established renewable energy group with over 25 years of experience in developing, building, and operating photovoltaic and large-scale battery storage projects. They manage a portfolio of 350+ PV and storage assets and are actively expanding their large-scale BESS and solar project pipeline in Germany and internationally. Focused on innovation and long-term growth, they are shaping the future of clean energy.

What you can expect from us

As Procurement Manager (m/f/d), you will take full responsibility for the strategic and operational procurement of large-scale battery storage projects. Working closely with engineering, project management, and external partners, you will ensure efficient, timely, and cost-effective procurement — from market research and tendering to awarding contracts and preparing agreements.

Procurement strategy & market analysis

• Development and implementation of a cross-project procurement strategy for all relevant product groups and services
• Continuous monitoring and analysis of relevant markets and technologies

Supplier management & relationship management

• Building and maintaining strategic partnerships with suppliers, general contractors, and subcontractors
• Conducting regular performance and quality reviews

Tender & bidding phase

• Preparation of complete tender documents based on technical specifications and project requirements
• Management of the entire tendering process, including bid management, bidder communication, and support during contract negotiations
• Conducting commercial and technical bid analyses (in cooperation with engineering) and preparing well-founded award recommendations

Order management

• Responsibility for the full order process, including documentation, approvals, and handover to project management and finance

What makes you stand out

• Successfully completed studies in engineering (e.g., civil engineering, industrial engineering) or a comparable qualification
• 3–5 years of professional experience in strategic or technical procurement, ideally in energy infrastructure, photovoltaics, battery storage (BESS), EPC, or plant engineering
• Solid experience managing complex tendering and procurement processes, plus strong market knowledge of relevant suppliers and components
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills in German and English
• Structured, independent work style with high process reliability in contract and supplier management
• Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP or AVA systems is a plus
• Willingness to travel within Germany (approx. 5–10%)
