Job Description

Procurement Manager (Defense Tech)

Location: Plainview, NY (On-site)

Compensation: $100,000

Industry: Defense / Aerospace / Ruggedized Electronics

The Mission: We are a long-standing comprehensive technology solutions provider specializing in high-quality, ruggedized hardware for military and government sectors. As we expand our operations, we are seeking a Procurement Manager to lead project purchasing and drive vendor excellence. This is a hands-on leadership role reporting to senior management and supervising a dedicated Buyer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Sourcing: Identify and qualify new vendors while nurturing existing supplier relationships to ensure supply chain reliability and growth.
• Negotiation & Execution: Obtain quotes, negotiate pricing for complex project needs, and organize data for high-level pricing reviews.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as the procurement bridge between Engineering, Production, Quality, and Logistics teams to resolve project-specific technical questions.
• Systems Management: Oversee the entry of parts into purchasing software and ensure all documentation remains traceable and audit-ready in shared systems.

The Ideal Profile:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required.
• Experience: Proven track record in supply chain or operations management.
• Technical Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Outlook) and prior experience with ERP systems (highly ).
• Attributes: You must be hyper-organized, detail-oriented, and possess the communication skills to manage both internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Compliance: Due to the nature of our military contracts, candidates must be a US or Green Card holder.
