The Procurement Manager oversees an organization's purchasing activities, sourcing goods and services while optimizing costs, quality, and vendor relationships. They develop sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, manage supplier performance, and mitigate supply chain risks. This role ensures compliance with policies, manages budgets, and supports operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Supplier Management: Identifying, evaluating, and maintaining relationships with vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
Manufacturing Support: Supporting the engineering department in material sourcing and manuacturing processes relevant to projects.
Negotiation & Contracting: Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating supplier contracts, terms, and pricing.
Strategic Sourcing: Developing purchasing strategies that align with company goals and budget constraints.
Procurement Operations: Managing the purchase-to-pay process, including RFPs (Request for Proposals), purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation.
Risk Mitigation: Identifying potential supply shortages or logistical issues and creating contingency plans.
Compliance: Ensuring all purchases adhere to company policies, legal regulations, and sustainability standards.
Performance Analysis: Analyzing spending patterns and vendor performance to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Negotiation: Strong ability to secure beneficial terms and pricing.
Analytical Skills: Proficient in cost analysis and evaluating vendor performance metrics.
Communication: Effective interpersonal skills for managing vendor relationships and internal stakeholders.
Technical Proficiency: Knowledge of ERP systems, procurement software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Leadership: Experience supervising, mentoring, or managing a buying team.
Education/Experience: Generally requires a Bachelors degree in supply chain management, logistics, or business, along with several years of experience in purchasing
