The Procurement Team Manager is the day-to-day operations leader of the Procurement team and primarily manages the Direct Spend category portfolio of products and supporting suppliers. The Procurement Team Manager is responsible for ensuring a continuous supply of over 33,000 SKUS divided into 8 Direct Spend Product family sub-categories and supported by approximately 30 key strategic suppliers and managing a team of Procurement Agents working to achieve this core KPI. The Procurement Team Manager manages the operational structure of the Procurement department to ensure efficient fulfillment of department KPIS and assigns and delegates workload to direct reports to ensure department and individual goals are met while aligning workload to effectively challenge and provide development opportunities for staff. The Procurement Team Manager manages Procurement Department cross-functional actions items with Corporate Finance, AP, HR, legal / contracts, IT, Engineering, Marketing and Product development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages the day-to-day Procurement workflow to ensure continuous supply of the 33,000 active saleable SKUS divided into 8 Direct Spend Product family sub-categories. IE Purchase Order reviews and approvals, working with the Procurement agents to plan and execute blanket POS with accurate replenishment timelines and ensuring an efficient P2P process with appropriate levels of incoming stock, consistent stock levels and a seamless receiving and payables process.
- Manages the operational structure of the department operations to ensure efficient fulfillment of department KPIS. IE – stock levels, pricing control, cost reductions, vendor management and quality.
- Assigns and Delegates workload to direct reports to ensure department and individual goals are met while aligning workload to effectively challenge and provide development opportunities for staff.
- Manage strategic and tactical vendor relationships (Pricing, quality, supply sustainability) in support of department procurement activities.
- Periodic travel to Vendor /Supplier production facilities to assess production capacity, risk mitigation actions and determine process improvements aimed at controlling cost and ensuring continuous supply.
- Manages Procurement Department cross-functional actions items with Corporate Finance, AP, HR, legal / contracts, IT, Engineering, Marketing, Product development and Inventory Control.
- Prepares and presents weekly Department KPI briefings to the Procurement Department Senior Manager.
- Works closely with the Procurement Department Senior Manager to plan and allocate team resources to optimize the organizational structure of the team.
- Works closely with the Procurement Department Senior Manager to continually improve and grow Departmental KPIS to promote workload efficiency, execute strategy and mitigate risks.
- Supports the Procurement Department Senior Manager in Strategic planning and project execution.
- Works closely with the Procurement Department Senior Manager to develop and implement a Global Sourcing strategy and workflow for HYTORC international locations.
- Support the Procurement Department Senior Manager in all Indirect Procurement projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Procurement Team Manager will lead and manage a team of approximately 3-4 team managers / supervisors and / or senior individual contributors.
Education/Experience Required:
- Post-secondary degree &/or an equivalent certification in supply chain, logistics or business.
- In lieu of a post-secondary degree &/or an equivalent certification, 7+ years of relevant escalating career experience in supply chain, logistics or business.
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role; preferably in industrial engineering and manufacturing.
- Mastery of standard procurement, inventory management and demand planning best practices and techniques.
- Experience with building and developing new stakeholder relationships and functioning as a cross-functional POC.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Ability to multi-task in a high volume fast paced environment.
- High proficiency in logistics methods and import/customs procedures.
Computer Skills Necessary:
- Experience with entire Microsoft Office suite is required.
- Experience with SAP and other ERP systems is considered an asset.

Physical Demands/Requirements:
- This role is a standard administrative office position, there are no lifting or standing requirements.
Work Environment:
- Standard office environment of moderate to low noise level
- The normal work environment is an office area. However, there may be occasional visits to the warehouse area which is in close proximity to the loading dock. Periodic opening closing of the overhead door can cause temporary temperature variations and noise levels higher than in the normal “office” areas.
- Travel approximately 5-10% of the time, some domestic and/or international supplier visits may be required.
