Procurement Manager\n\nLocation: Doncaster, South Yorkshire\n\nSalary: Competitive\n\nVacancy Type: Full time, Permanent\n\nThe Procurement Manager is responsible for managing the end-to-end procurement function within a food manufacturing environment. This includes sourcing raw materials and packaging, negotiating supplier contracts, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and delivering cost efficiencies while maintaining product quality and supply continuity.\n\nDuties:\n\nProcurement & Sourcing\n\nDevelop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business objectives\nSource and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, ingredients, and packaging\nNegotiate pricing, contracts, and service level agreements to achieve best value\nSupplier Management\n\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers\nMonitor supplier performance against KPIs (quality, cost, delivery)\nConduct regular supplier reviews and audits\nCost Management\n\nIdentify and deliver cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety\nMonitor commodity markets and manage price fluctuations\nPrepare and manage procurement budgets and forecasts\nFood Safety & Compliance\n\nEnsure all suppliers meet relevant food safety and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, BRC, ISO)\nMaintain full traceability of materials in line with regulatory requirements\nSupport internal and external audits\nSupply Chain Coordination\n\nWork closely with production, planning, and logistics teams to ensure material availability\nManage inventory levels, minimising waste and avoiding stockouts\nOversee supplier lead times and delivery schedules\nRisk Management\n\nIdentify and mitigate supply chain risks (e.g., supplier dependency, disruptions)\nDevelop contingency plans and alternative sourcing strategies\nSkills & Experience\n\nKey Skills & Experience\n\nProven experience in procurement within a food manufacturing or FMCG environment\nStrong negotiation and contract management skills\nKnowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards\nExperience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving abilities\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills\nQualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)\nProfessional procurement qualification (e.g., CIPS) desirable\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\n\nCost savings and budget adherence\nSupplier performance (quality, delivery, reliability)\nStock availability and inventory turnover\nCompliance with food safety and regulatory standards\nTo Apply .\n\nIf you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for Chesterfield Poultry, please do not hesitate to apply
