Procurement Manager
Job Description
We’re delighted to be partnering with a London-based university to support the recruitment of a Procurement Manager (part-time) who will focus on sustainability ensuring the university embeds sustainable procurement practices as part of their commitment to Net Zero.
Key duties:
- Represent the University in a sector-wide Net Zero Carbon supplier project and build external partnerships
- Lead sustainable procurement initiatives to improve supplier performance on environmental and social issues
- Measure and reduce supply chain carbon emissions and track progress against targets
- Support internal teams and key suppliers to deliver carbon reduction and sustainability goals
- Develop training, guidance, and procedures to embed sustainability in procurement practices
- Ensure compliance with sustainable procurement policies and public sector regulations
Candidate profile:
- Qualified or working towards MCIPS
- Knowledge and expertise in sustainable procurement methodologies
- A strong understanding of carbon emissions, embodied carbon, carbon neutrality and circular economy
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
Annual salary: £29,681 (60% pro rata’d from £49,468 per annum)
Contract type: Part-time, permanent
Working hours: 22 hours over 3-4 days per week
Location: London (1 day in the office per week)
