Job Description
This position is primarily responsible for the maintenance of equipment of coating and purification vessels and performs mechanical work including the preventive works of valves, pipes, vacuum pumps, liquid pumps, scrubbers, and cooling towers. This role will learn about equipment and functionality of the scrubber system, liquid pump system, vacuum pump system, cooling tower system and will also work around chemical equipment which requires the wearing of full personal protective equipment including a full respirator face mask.
Primary Responsibilities
- Executes Planned Maintenance Systems and repairs: vessels including pipes and valves
- Cleans scrubber and cooling tower system, vacuum pump, and Kinney pump system
- Installs and upgrades equipment
- Cleans the equipment and the facility
- Rebuilds valves and rebuilds pumps
Education and/or Experience
- High School diploma or GED or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Basic math and computer skills required
- Two or more years’ experience in a manufacturing or mechanical environment
- Ability to use mechanical and heavy tools
- Must be able to lift at least 35 pounds and have the ability to move safely in and about the production area
Job Environment
- Must be comfortable with working around and with a wide variety of gases and chemicals
- OSHA standards strictly enforced
Schedule
10-hour shifts/condensed schedule, rotating shifts/days
Weekend work is required and built into schedule
