Title:      Process Technician

Reports to:        Process and Design Engineer

Classification:     Full time, Non exempt

Location:            Richfield, Ohio and Spartanburg, South Carolina

 

JOB PURPOSE

We seek Process Technicians for both our Corporate location in Richfield Ohio, and the same role, skills, duties, and hours for Spartanburg, South Carolina!


The purpose of the Process Technician is to ensure an efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing processes by monitoring consistency, quality and safety of the production floor.  Through monitoring the process, this role will help maintain and maximize productivity and drive continuous improvements by troubleshooting process issues, assisting in product launches and documentation process changes and parameters.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

·      Process Setup & Operation

o   Set up, adjust, and maintain production equipment according to defined process standards.

o   Support new product introductions and engineering trials.

o   Monitor processes for deviations and take corrective actions as needed.

o   Maintain, Create and set up in-process testing equipment and process fixtures.

·      Troubleshooting & Maintenance

o   Identify root causes of production issues related to equipment, materials, or methods.

o   Collaborate with maintenance and engineering to minimize downtime.

o   Maintain accurate logs of process changes and equipment adjustments.

·      Continuous Improvement

o   Suggest and implement improvements to reduce waste, cycle time, and variability.

o   Participate in Lean, Kaizen, or Six Sigma initiatives.

o   Support documentation updates for work instructions, process sheets, and SOPs.

·      Quality & Compliance

o   Ensure processes meet safety, quality, and compliance requirements.

o   Assist in process capability studies, and corrective actions.

·      Data Collection & Reporting

o   Record production data, including yield, downtime, and scrap.

o   Analyze trends and communicate findings to engineering or management teams.

o   Maintain up-to-date process documentation and revision control.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

·      Reduction of process problems through elimination of 8 wastes

·      Good communication and effective working relations exist with other departments.

·      Senior management is appropriately informed of area activities and significant problems.

REQUIRED LICENSES, CERTIFICATES AND EDUCATION

·      Associate’s degree in manufacturing, Engineering Technology or equivalent experience

·      Experience in wire harness manufacturing is a plus

·      Skills

o   Strong Mechanical/Electrical aptitude

o   Proficient with measurement tools and process instruments

o   Experience with ERP system, Office Suite

o   Ability to read and interpret technical documentation such as drawings,  and specifications sheets.

MAJOR PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

·      Finger Dexterity:            Using primarily just fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.

·      :          Fluent in English , able to convey detail or important instructions or ideas.

·      Hearing:              Able to hear with or without the use of a hearing aid in normal environments.

·      Visual: Good visual acuity with or without the use of prescription glasses or contact lenses.

·      Physical:             Physically active. Exerts up to 50 lbs.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

·      Reasoning Ability:        Able to deal with a variety of scenarios.  Able to interpret various instructions.

·      Comprehension Ability:            Ability to read and comprehend technical journals, instruction manuals and other materials relevant to the position. 

·      Work Authorization:   Authorized to work in the United States.
